Noël Quiz (No "L" quiz)

Time for another quiz. Don't be confussed with the title, even though it's the middle of February, it's the perfect time for a Noël quiz.

Below are 144 pairs of words with cryptic clues. Each pair of words differs only by the the removal of the letter 'L'.

In some cases just one letter is removed, sometimes more. Always, however, the second word in the pair has all the offending letter removed.
